Will Neymar miss the remaining World Cup matches?

Neymar, who entered the game as a substitute in the 80th minute and cried after reaching the bench while being attended to by the national team's medical staff, will remain in the World Cup, Tite assured in the news conference following Brazil's victory over Serbia on Thursday.

Ney was the target of the Serbian defense the whole game, receiving nine of the twelve fouls called against Brazil. This included a sweep by defender Nikola Milenkovic, who strayed wide in a careless sweep and inflicted a painful right ankle bend with his knee while going unpunished.

The medical team promptly instructed Brazil's #10 to leave the field without studs and socks after he complained about his right ankle.

Tite is upbeat about Neymar's health.

"He's going to continue in the World Cup, you can have that certainty. He felt the pain during the game, but decided to continue. It should be highlighted,"

 said Tite.

Rodrigo Lasmar, the physician at the "Verdeamarelha," urged calmness because it was too soon to make any pronouncements and requested a wait of 24 hours to observe how Neymar's ankle developed.

What details of Neymar's health are currently known?

Despite having a sore ankle at the end of the game, Neymar struggled to walk on his own feet as he walked out of the mixed zone. A sprain is the preliminary diagnosis, which might effectively preclude him from playing.

"We put ice on it and already started treatment. We're waiting 24–48 hours to get a better sense of the circumstances. He'll keep up his physical therapy, "

The physician explained.

"If there are any new developments, we will report them. Everything will be decided as of tomorrow when we see his evolution. The expectation is for observation. Anything we say is premature and I don't have a definitive answer to give."

In an interview with TyC Sports, Vinicius Jr., for his part, provided assurance regarding the condition of his teammate:

"Neymar is fine. He is a little sad about the blow, but tomorrow morning he will be happy and happy to recover as quickly as possible for the match against Switzerland".

Brazil 2014's aftermath and Neymar's health

Neymar was injured in the quarterfinals of the Brazil 2014 tournament against Colombia after Camilo Ziga kneed him in the back, breaking a lumbar vertebra.

Ney was out for the remainder of the competition, and Brazil was humiliatingly eliminated from the Cup by Germany in the semifinals. However, Ney Jr. has previously experienced a variety of ankle issues.

To complement Richarlison, Raphinha, and Vinicius, other promising names like Antony, Rodrygo Goes, or Gabriel Martinelli are still on the sidelines.
