The Moroccan mayhem has come to an end as France has removed them from the World Cup competition.

Argentina and France will square off in the 2022 World Cup final.

After France defeated Morocco in their 2022 World Cup semifinal on Wednesday night, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi will face off in the championship game.

After Theo Hernandez's opening goal, Didier Deschamps watched his team play defense for protracted stretches. Theo Hernandez's goal helped France build on their victory over England by helping them advance to a second straight final with Randal Kolo Muani's two goals off the bench.

They will play Argentina on Sunday, with Messi aiming to win the championship on his final ever participation in it after Lionel Scaloni's team defeated Croatia 3-0 the previous evening.

Following their sloppy first goal, France was not at its best, and for a while, despite injuries to starting defenders Nayef Aguerd and Romain Saiss, Morocco appeared to be the more likely to score the second.

Kolo Muani scored shortly after coming off the bench, after Olivier Giroud had hit the post in the first half and Jawad El Yamiq had done the same with an incredible overhead kick in the second.

In their previous meetings with France, which included a 4-3 loss in the 2018 World Cup, Argentina had won six games, lost three, and drew three.

Both Messi and Mbappe have five goals in the tournament so far, so it's possible that they may tie for the Golden Boot and possibly player of the tournament.

Both Argentina and France have won two World Cups, with Argentina doing so in 1978 and 1986 and France most recently in 1998 and most recently in 2018.

Although Theo Hernandez and Randal Kolo Muani scored, Kylian Mbappe posed a threat. The FIFA World Cup 2022 has a fantastic finale.

France will attempt to defend its World Cup victory from 2018. Kylian Mbappé will play.

Argentina will strive to add that one item to Lionel Messi's already impressive CV.

From star power to great defenses to recent history between the two teams, Sunday's championship game has everything you could want.

Mbappé, Messi, and many more players who will take the pitch on Sunday inside the Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar played in France's 4-3 round-of-16 victory over Argentina at the 2018 World Cup.
