Vitor Roque announced as a new Barcelona player.

Barcelona has announced Roque as their third transfer deal of the summer, following the signings of Ilkay Gundogan and Inigo Martinez. However, unlike the veteran duo, Roque won't be joining the team immediately but is expected for the 2024/25 season. His contract, set to run until June 2031, includes a staggering €500 million release clause.

Barcelona will reportedly pay Roque's current club, Athletico Paranaense, a €30 million transfer fee, as per transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano. In addition to the transfer fee, performance-based bonuses totaling €31 million have been agreed upon with Athletico PR. These bonuses include €26 million tied to Roque's performance and an extra €5 million if he ranks in the top 3 for the Ballon d'Or.

Now that his future is secure, Roque is refocusing on his current commitments with Athletico PR. The young striker, who is the second top scorer in Brazil's premier league with seven goals and two assists in 13 games, is preparing for the second leg of the Copa do Brasil quarter-final against Flamengo. His team, Athletico PR, is looking to overturn a 2-1 aggregate deficit in the upcoming match in Curitiba.
