Just two months after it was restored, Twitter Inc. blocked Kanye West's account once more on Friday after its founder Elon Musk said he had broken the terms of service forbidding encouragement to violence.
Musk, who identifies as an ardent supporter of free expression, had praised Ye's return to the stage in October.
"I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended," Musk tweeted late on Thursday.
Within an hour of Musk's post, which was made in response to a Twitter user who had said
"Elon Fix Kanye Please"
A request for comment from Twitter did not immediately receive a response.
Ye's account, which had more than 30 million followers, was suspended after Twitter restricted one of his tweets.
Before Elon Musk's $44 billion takeover of the social media site was complete, the platform restored the rapper's account. Musk later clarified that he had no involvement in Ye returning to Twitter.
Ye posted a picture of Hollywood mogul Ari Emanuel using a hose to splash water at Elon Musk's back on Thursday. Before the account was suspended, he captioned the photo,
"Let's always remember this as my final tweet #ye24."

Ye's account was suspended, Musk said, for inciting violence rather than for publishing
"an unattractive photo of me being hosed by Ari."
Twitter unbanned or suspended a number of contentious accounts in November, including those of the satirical website Babylon Bee and the comic Kathy Griffin.
Musk also made the decision to restore the account of former US President Donald Trump after the majority of Twitter users supported Trump's reinstatement in a poll.
